Respect for Self!

Dorothy Parker wrote “In youth, it was a way I had, to do my best to please and change with every passing lad to suit his theories. But now I know the things I know and do the things I do, and if you do not like me so, to hell, my love, with you.”

It's simple, You're worth the price you tag on yourself. When you consider yourself a dimwit, you're giving others the right to do the same. Interestingly, respect is not an ethical obligation - nobody is obliged to respect you, it's purely for moral justification. Therefore, if you're not comfortable with yourself don't expect anyone to be comfortable with you. Some folks consider themselves to 'belong' to another person, there's no bigger display of self disrespect. Only a person with an incredibly low self esteem 'belongs' to another. Till next time, Keep dreaming!
