The Chemistry of Love!!

"The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed." Blaise Pascal. So... The issue of love. You saw it coming didn't you? I mean, love is about the only human behavioural phenomenom that's so universal, every race, tribe, caste, kingdom for some strange, strange reason, falls in love, doesn't matter how macho you are, or you think you are, as long as you're old enough, she's coming, I assure you. A big question is, what's happening in the brain all that time?? You meet, you converse, probably about things that don't even make any sense, next thing you know, you're calling that person saying stuff like 'You complete me' 'I can't live without you', and I'm like seriously?? How have you been living before you met her huh? Any ideas? But that's besides the point anyway, I digress. Back to the question of what goes on in the brain - the chemistry of love.. Now scientists, have come up with an explanation, or at least so they think, and that's what I thought to share with you. Thus, all that talk about cupid and his arrow is most probably false. Sorry! According to those science people, they were able, through the use of Magnetic Resonance Imaging technology, to observe the human brain and monitor the goings on during the whole falling in love process.. They conclude there are a few basic chemical hormones that are involved, I'm just gonna quote from some of their findings... "Dopamine is the pleasure chemical, it produces a feeling of bliss. Norepinephrine is similar to adrenaline and produces the racing heart and excitement" According to Helen Fisher, anthropologist and love researcher from Rutgers University, these two chemicals produce a feeling of delight, elation, energy, and sometimes, loss of appetite. I'm getting bored already so I'm just gonna stop. Love is a concept, probably the most complicated concept the world knows, I probably don't understand too much about it, so I'm not going to say. But most people say it's a beautiful feeling that every person should feel. You however need to get old enough first though.. Okay, I'm out. Till next time,, keep dreaming!!
